A complete reconstruction of this building has created 3 commercial units on the ground floor. The second and third floors have 4 apartments each (all 2-room apartments, with the kitchen incorporated into the main living area), and the attic level contains one apartment with 2 rooms (where the kitchen is incorporated into the main living area) and two apartments each with 4 rooms, a separate kitchen and their own terrace area. The ground-floor commercial unit is connected to the basement level via a newly built staircase. The entire building has new wiring and plumbing, and the WC/bathroom areas have been completely reconstructed. During the modernization, emphasis was placed on retaining as many original historical features as possible (the stucco ornamentation in the ground-floor entrance hall, the staircase with its iron railings, the original interior doors including their panelled frames). The façade features a combination of smooth and structured plaster in a single colour. New roof terraces have been built on the attic level, and roof windows have been installed.
The apartment block in Střelniční St. is an ideal location for city centre living, offering excellent access both by car and by public transport; it is easy to get anywhere at any time. The “Výstaviště” tram stop (trams 4, 10, 12, 14) is just a short distance from the apartments.
Ostrava’s main central square (Masarykovo náměstí) is only a short walk away, as are other amenities such as the Černá Louka exhibition centre, the Puppet Theatre and the Forum Nová Karolina shopping mall. Nearby you can relax in the rectory garden (including a children’s play area) or stroll along the embankments of the Ostravice River.
